<Direction>

The direction for Hutto is still to be written. Plans have been made and hopes have been set. But it seems many who I have talked to are unhappy with the direction. Business's most of whom I know and interact with either as a friend or a customer seem to feel left out of the plan. Many long time citizens do not like the present course. While there is a master plan it still has room for improvement. Our direction needs to be a community effort and accepted heart, mind and soul of all our citizens. I believe the group effort of the entire city will give us many great solutions to our ever growing issues. It is said without vision the people will perish. This does not mean any vision, but a vision of responsibility, one of government and one of the people. The people of Hutto must come together to help in the building of the vision. The government must lead in the midst of the vision. It is not easy for either, but if we have a us and them mentality, that only further serves to divide. We will never be able to fight together the forces that wish to overtake a city ripe for the picking. They are many people whom I have talked to whose ideas of what they see should be listened to. I have been going door to door and have talked to many who just feel left out and feel there are those in the city who want it this way to further their or others agendas. It is no longer just about where we will go. It is about HOW WE WILL GET THERE. May we find it in our hearts to undo the apathy in ourselves and build up the can and will do spirit of everything is possible. In this our direction will come.
